Introduction

Post by 5hilll »

Hi everyone, I’m Lauren, 31, from St Helens. I was diagnosed with dyspraxia at the age of 7 (and yes, I still struggle to spell it!). I’m lucky to have a very supportive family and friendship group.

In my working life, I’ve found management roles challenging at times and have had to advocate for reasonable adjustments, which has taught me a lot about myself and my resilience.

I’m here hoping to find both love and genuine friendship. I’d really like to meet someone who understands why I may struggle with trust and emotions, or find certain tasks overwhelming at times. I’ve often found myself being “the friend” rather than the girlfriend, and although I’ve tried dating apps, they haven’t quite worked for me.

I’d love to meet someone who’s interested in building a life together — going on holidays, making memories, and supporting each other. I’ve also thought that being with someone who has a similar disability could be something we’d really understand and support each other through.

I want to be honest that I’m not looking to date someone who already has children, as I don’t feel ready for that responsibility.

Is anyone else here from Merseyside?
Ofcourse the first answer to which team do I support from Merseyside- I am a life long Liverpool Fan.
