Post by stevo24 »

Hey there

My name is steven iam new on this site and am sure its going to benifet me in the long run.

I live in south ayrshire in scotland which i like as it is quiet has it downs like anywhere else but mostly ups.

I love music all kinds really and i love movies have a huge passion for that. I dont really have a favourite movie as such as i cant really as there is so much movies keep coming out.

I also love to get out and go for a good walk, I am so lucky living in the area iam cause it has gorgeous land marks and cenery, especially beautiful in summer and autum and looks lovely in winter when theres snow on the ground.

I havent been diagnosed as being dysprixic as such but i defo know iam deep down inside it is a defo. I am really annoyed, frustrated and angry with my teachers, doctors, careers officers, and parents for not making me aware of my condition early on i have to discover by myself what was wrong with me as i knew i wasint normal.

Hey Its not normal for your mum to wash and gel your hair
To help you with buttons and to tie ties and shoe laces as i cant
to help me to put socks on for me as if i do it myself its very un comfy
Have probs with shaving
Cant make tea/coffee
Cant use a knife only use a fork for eating
cant tell left from right
cant tell time
Major problems with concentration and memory
Cant cook, switch on cooker, oven
Cant even make a sandwich for myself or anyone
Have probs with doing simple house hold tasks like hoovering, making beds, hanging out washing etc.
Probs with playing with computer games
Probs with understand letters
Probs with taking down phone messages properly
sometimes understanding of movies is a prob
Dancing is a prob even though its not a major problem but its the fact that i cant do it thats the real problem
very little confidence mostly when out and about with mates, when you meet new people and make conversation.
Cant stand up with my self and have probs speaking up for myself
Cant play sports at all. hand/eye co-ordonation very bad was bullied at school cause i couldint catch a ball play football always last to get picked. I couldint wait till 3rd year came along so i wouldint have to choose pe as a subject. I always made sure i forgot my pe kit on purpose. In the end i was taken out of mane stream pe and put into class with kids with specail needs and kids who had behavour probs. No offence to them i shouldint have been put in that class as them
I had bad grades at school
I cant even talk to my parents/family about stuff dont ask me why as i cant i dont understand myself
I cant carry to much stuff in my arms at once always drop or spill always embarrissing when you have to order drinks from the bar on a nite out
Ive got into debt cause i dont understand any letters/forms from banks and that worrys me and scarys me.

Ive been extremely down, upset and last night i admit i was a bit sucidle. I didnt want to end my life but i was so depressed i had know one to talk to as i dont have any major good mates out there. I am pretty lonely but that dosent really bother me well it does but iam more concerned with what the future holds for me. Whats going to happen to me?. I am scared and terrified.

I am looking for male mates age 20+ from any where in the world to message, email, msn, bebo, or even postal write. I am looking to get to know people who understand me and this condition and thats not going to judge me and advise me please and support me.
Its going to be difficult for me so i want support

Well i hope you enjoyed reading my intruduction am sorry its a long one. Hope to hear from you all soon. And even if your a female drop me a line anytime to once in a while

Take care everyone and this site is a credit to every dysprixia suffering in the world and my thoughts are with you all

Take care and be strong

Steven

I'm not a guy Steveo but id recommend loads of video games and other activities which involve training. The reason why you cant dress your self or use utinsels properly is,you haven't been assesed by anyone and you need professional help. Those people were bastards. Thats why i have 2nd thoughts about wishing i was in secondry mainstream.you see they don't understand our lifestyles and find it very hillarious, thats because their either aggressive, have socially bad behavour which will effect oher people emotionally, mentally and physically.Anyway we are as inteligent as anyone else.Keep up on your dream.and seek phsychology treatment. Now any more females, teens and adults

Welcome to the forum Steve!

I gotta say steve, that although your case seems to be a bit more extreme then my own, you seem to have taken dyspraxia as an invitation to utter dispair and pointlessness of living.

can't put gel in your hair? can't switch on a cooker? Suicide?

This may be rash of me to say, but it sounds like your sitting back in utter defeat of your disabilities and letting other people worry about you.
you really cant cook? or even make a sandwich? I find that hard to believe! of you were living on your own and were starving to death and all you had was a bag of uncooked rice, I'm sure you would somehow through some force of miricle manage to feed youself.
There is only so much help a person can recieve before thet start feeling like there a compleatly usless person (and therefor think that they're better off dead) your thinking is too negative.

Just replace all the "can'ts" with "I find it difficult too"
A tortiose cant cook a meal, and an elephant cant play a clarinet but a dyspraxic person would only find it difficult.
It;s amazing how much personal confidance make dispraxia diminish so effectivly.

Feel free to email me, or say hy when I'm on yahoo. I'd like a proper chat, but I'm not into doling out sympathy or listening to tradigy compotitions were people sit around and argue over who has the most tragic disability. If stephen hawkins can be the leading thinker of an entire branch of science then there is nothing that someone with dyspraxia cannot do and absolutly no reason why one should feel that they should kill themselves.
