Hello from Canada!
Having been diagnosed with dyspraxia at the green age of six, I'm now 20 but have yet to (knowingly) converse with a fellow dyspraxic. I'm looking to meet some people with similar troubles and quirks. Feel free to say hi!
Re: Hello from Canada!
Hi, I was diagnosed when I was 15. I'm 30 now. I like cats, reading, Harry Potter, Watching Soaps on TV and going on the internet.

All of the above is pretty awesome! Although, I am, sadly, allergic to cats and I haven't read nor watched Harry Potter. lol

Scottish side (Manitoba).
Wow, that's quite a while. I'd be interested to hear your story.

Welcome to the forums (or fora) and our community. You should find plenty of examples of quirks here.
Hope you don't mind me transferring this thread into Introductions. I've always known I was different but have only recently in the last 3 years realised/appreciated that I'm dyspraxic though I do find I can be resistant to being defined by any label.
How's awareness in Canada?
I've been lucky enough to visit a few places on the Western and Eastern sides and took an unplanned dip in Canoe Lake in Algonquin in 2006. since then my record in canoes has been better thankfully and had a Lovely (and dry) trip out on Clearwater Lake in Wells Grey Provincial Park though the bugs had a bit of a feast.

Not at all. Thank you, Tom. I hadn't seen that option when I first joined.Tom fod wrote:

I can relate. While I don't like relying on my diagnosis as a crutch and sounding like a broken record of excuses, it's bound to come up and it does make my struggles easier to swallow. For the longest time I've underestimated the severity of my dyspraxia. Only in recent years have I begun to read up on it and build an understanding of why I am how I am.
The awareness in Canada, and North America in general, seems next to nil if the lack of online support groups are any indication. Anyone I've spoken to face-to-face, with the exception of the therapist that diagnosed me, has never heard of dyspraxia before.
Happy to hear you enjoyed your visit. Hopefully all the positive memories gave off a good impression of us. lol
