Hi!

Post by scififreak1992 »

I wish I'd found this sooner!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 21 (diagnosed with dyspraxia at around age 8 or 9) and I'm Scottish.
I have been half heartedly searching for answers for things for years and have slowly come to my own conclusions about things but in the last few posts I've read there are a few issues in my head that have been resolved. It's nice to see such familiar problems typed out for all to see.

I live at home with my partially disabled mother (she has a whole list of things wrong with her including Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and pets (2 corn snakes, 1 hamster and a cat). I have a younger brother (19) who has Aspergers and so has my Dad but his is undiagnosed. My brother moved out about 16 months ago and lives with his girlfriend, her son from a previous relationship (5 year old just diagnosed Aspergers) and their 20-odd week old baby.

Since November (me turning 21), I've had this obcession with "trying to be more of an adult" and it annoys and confuses my best friend (who believes people are diagnosed prematurely and is dismissive of quite a few developmental disorders). I decided to find the words that I need to explain, so obviously the internet will help!

But anyways, just wanted to say hello.
