Whenever I get done with my classes I just want to rest
I just usually want to take a break and do something non-school. But sometimes if I do that then I don't ever want to get back to my work. It's kind of bad and it doesn't happen all the time, but I get burnt out after doing a lot of schoolwork in one day or even just after a couple of classes! Anyone else have the problem? I try to use limited time on my breaks, but sometimes it doesn't really work. Probably I'm just not motivated enough.

i found that too, if i bothered to go to my uni classes then i couldnt do any other uni work that day, so if i had course work to do i just dodnt go to uni. v v bad approach, but it was the only way i could manage it. i could manage going to class, then doing t=lots of other things in the day, like seeing friends, riding my horse, going to work, but not to uni related things cause my brain got over loaded. iv no advice im afraid, i was a terrible student, just wanted to say i felt that way too
I think it is because the dyspraxic brain has to work that much harder, and you are putting in at least twice the effort, if not more, than the average "Joe Bloggs" into getting the work done, like if it is handwritten work.
like I got into major trouble for daydreaming a lot in school,
but when I went to College, then it was totally different even thought the work load was harder to handle, the atmosphere changed,
and I found that better than anything else, maybe it was because it was things that actually stimulated my brain! like subjects worth learning, or the atmosphere with the lecturers. but the whole change was better for me.
but the other thing I found good especially with car maintenance was the timetable,
(Monday) nothing, so taken an hour extra Numeracy lesson (didn't mind that as the lecturer was always up for a laugh, as long as we knuckled down to work) and I like Numeracy anyway, so the 2 made for 1 really good lesson!!
(Tuesday) full day of written work
(Wednesday) full day of written work
(Thursday) morning: in the garage. afternoon: written work
(Friday) 1/2 morning: metal work. 2nd 1/2 morning: written work. afternoon off.
so only ended up with 2 days of full written work, and only 2 pieces of homework in the year,

I'm finding this very difficult as well. My mum is trying to get me to go back to doing my thesis after taking a half hour break for lunch. The thing is by this time my brain is overloaded and I can't concentrate nearly as well as I did in the morning. I think I need to talk to my mum about it as I know I am capable of finishing my thesis early if I get enough done in the mornings and take the afternoon off to give my brain a break from all the stress. Thing is mum doen't quite believe me
. I'm going to have a hard time convincing her that I need to see my best friend this afternoon {then again maybe not as I'm currently working on numbers stuff and she's more sympathetic about that}.
Unfortunately my mum's attitude had lead to a less than stellar work ethic where I browse the net while I'm working {as is the case this morning >_>}, which is rather dangerously distracting, especially as I'm nearing the end of my full-time education {at least for a year or two}.
In my case I've found it best that I don't take breaks until I've completed a significant amount of work {sometimes skipping lunch altogether}, but I don't want to continue like this since I know it's bad for me. I wish my mum wasn't so stubborn about how many hours I ought to put into this ¬_¬.
