This new forum needs a logo, and we're looking for suggestions. Please post your ideas for a logo, or even design one if you wish. The best logo idea or design will be put in pride of place at the top of the website for all to see!

Hmm. I'm not sure about that idea, as it would make it look as if the Dyspraxic Adults' forum is also designed and run by the Alden-Farrows - there is already a pronounced similarity between the web addresses of the fora. I don't think Darren has exactly copyrighted the left foot graphic and he probably wouldn't sue anyone who wanted to use two right feet over here, but as this is a completely different site it might be better to have a different logo.

Also, 'two left feet' is a metaphor for being clumsy. 'Two right feet' doesn't quite have the same effect!

That's a reasonable point. The domain was chosen based in part as it was a logical follow on from dyspraxic teens and it also clearly demarked the intended userbase for both, and is also (I hope) nice and easy to remember, carrying on the pattern of org.uk domains that DANDA and DT uses.

If there is concern about confusion over the forum ownership or similar, then we can certainly ensure that the forum has a unique and distinct logo to fit its purpose. We just need to put our creative hats on and get thinking! :D And I do agree about the two-left feet, two-right feet thing - it doesn't quite work the same way!

How about a square peg ... as in 'square peg, round hole'... hmmmm.... or a square peg trying to squeeze in to a round hole... im sure somone can jazz the image up a bit... make it quirky... :-k

edit: Oh, i found some sites that had funny cartoons on that theme so you can get the gist of what im talking about:
http://www.mnispi.org/cartoon/2001/page ... eg_gif.htm
http://www.lemonworld.com/cartoons33.htm

... maybe the square peg can be labled "dyspraxic adults"!

Superb idea Tortoise! The square peg round hole metaphor is one that is very regularly used by dyspraxics when talking about their experiences. That's definitely one for the short list.

Do we have any artists or designers on the forum who might be able to rustle up a graphic? I'm more of a photography person myself, and I don't have any pegs and holes around the flat!

Only that I'm not so great with the GIMP.

I'm struggling with the square peg/round hole bit. Doesn't help I need a new program.

Does anyone else want a go?

OK, i have NO skills in graphics or anything... I just whipped this up using word!!! lol (tragic I know)

Anyway this is just to get people's creativity flowing. Someone may be able to work with the idea... maybe not!

The subtext in this image is of a happy square peg being liberated from round hole :-k
