Why are journal articles so anoying?

I have these 3 horrible journal articles on education to read for a test in 2 weeks i have read each several times and still cant get the jist of them and am getting really angry with myself. i have tryed reading parts of it only to make sense of it but it dont seem to be working.

Mostly it's because journal articles are really badly written.

If you don't get the gist from the abstract + introduction chances are whoever wrote the paper couldn't teach his grandmother to suck eggs.

Are they referencing anything frequently? Sometimes it helps to get a similar paper and have them explain the key concepts before refering back to the existing one.

Sometimes I find reading the conclusion first helps so you can contextualise everything else in terms of that.
