I suspect if I drove I'd be working for an airline servicing company now. It was one of the first jobs I applied for after Uni. Still, there's hope that things happen for a reason and that the right job is yet to come.
Welcome to the forum!
Dan.

For alternative lightbulb related solutions gather every sheet, cushion and bit of fabric in the house and make a spoilheap under the fitting.
It's much easier when you can walk up to it rather than having to balance on anything.
And spoil heaps are fun.
Greetings and Salutations by the way!

A bit late....
Two solutions that do not involve changing lightbulbs...
a) get a mobile phone which has its own light...
b) get a powerful torch...
From experience I would leave them somewhere where you can easily get them....

Heh, my bag has certain standard kit that I never take out of it unless I absolutely need the space for something else (it's a big bag and I carry it everywhere) this includes a powerfull torch. Recently I had to fix it by breaking apart another torch for spare parts. I stabbed myself trying to cut a spring but otherwise it's all good :)

I hate really high ceilings. I lived in a house like that once, I ended up arranging two sofas in a /\ fashion to get to it. It was pretty unstable but it worked.
That's a good inventory list. I don't have a proper first aid kit. Just some bandages, antiseptic wadding and painkillers. I should stock properly. Good to see I'm not the only person who feels bad leaving the house without a map - do you tend to wonder off in random directions "just to see what's there" and get hopelessly lost too :P
Anyone who sees chocolate as an essential is a good person.
I'm sitting here eating a chocolate orange bar as I type that :P

The getting hopelessly lost is the best part as you find lots of places you would not normally see.... it okay unless it is for work... then you get shouted at for being late!!!!!!
I have to admit I am currently munching my way through a very large bar of toblerone.... Having just had a hospital appointment and just been weighed I should put the chocolate down or at least give it to someone else to eat...

Give the chocolate to Donna to eat - two birds with one stone :P
It's all about maintaining a chocolate cupboard and refilling it when supplies look low ;)
I like wondering and finding random places too :)
For weight loss I recommend eight hour battle royales. I gotta have burned some calories this weekend :P
