do i discolse my dyspraxia? in general, yes.

when filling out health forms, and sometimes if im talking to someone who wants to know about it, i use this - http://hubpages.com/hub/information-she ... sabilities.

as far as employers go, on my standard CV, not adapted to give to any simgle employer, i have a paragraph.
"I do have dyspraxia, however, I have taken the problems caused by the disability in my younger life, and turned it into determination to succeed, to prove my primary school teachers and peers wrong. I am capable of anything that anyone else can do, even if i have to work slightly harder than average. The difficulties posed my dyspraxia where quite evident while I was home educated, as I essentially had to teach myself from the books that came from the distance learning company. However, I managed to get myself organised and achieve acceptable grades."

it is important to show that yes, i do have a disability, yes i may do things differently, or work harder, but i can be as good as anyone else, and i am willing and able to work hard to manage "normal" tasks. when disclosing to employers, once i have been accepted, or the prospective employer asks for more information, i will give them a copy of the information sheet i use for health forms and less formal situations.

just be honest, if you are honest, but ensure that positives are in there as well, tyou will generally have no problem.
another important thing for applying for a job is be honest with yourself, if you struggle to write neatly/quickly, are you really going to be able to be happy or do well taking notes from a meeting by hand, or drawing ect? by all means, get a job, but don't make yourself suffer too much for it.

one last important thing
know your rights, and do not be afraid to use them! CAB are generally a good starting point if you are unsure.
you cannot direct the wind, but you can adjust the sails.

I like the idea of that list.....I love lists....have a head like a sive so love to write things down I still don't think I would write it on my CV but am coming round to the idea that I'd mention it at an interview if I had enough practice at how to bring it up and what to say. Giving them a list with the general problems and giving the specific list for me would be a great way to show how organised I am!

I rang my union to find out what the reasonable accomodation would mean for me.....acutally f*** all. so the legislation isn't worth the paper it's written on. for the purposes of legislation the board of managedment of the school and not the department of education is responible for this so in fact they could say that they don't have to do anything and that they can't afford to get me a laptop or whiteboard. They wouldn't be lying because there is no money available right now. The school I'm in at the minute would organise it for me in a flash. They have given me a laptop. There would be no reason for me to disclose and it would be in my worst interest to do so. so obviously I have to suffer in silecne ...oh happy days =D>
