Hi and welcome

There a couple of options:
Take a friend or partner with you for moral support or to speak for you if you get tongue tied
Write a short list of key points of areas that you struggle with and the outcome you are seeking so you can hand this over if words fail you. Not all doctors will be familiar with the condition and there may not be many places where (s)he can refer you for diagnosis or specific assistance so you may be referred to your community mental health team.

If you’re in full time education or working it may be worth asking your college of HR Tean. If you’re not currently working it may be worth broaching with staf at local Jobcentre.

I've moved this Post into Getting Help and Assessment. It is worth a trawl through other posts in this topic area.

I don't know what it's like in the UK, but I don't think the drs. in the US would even care. I was told , "well it's a little too late to be worried about it now," by an insensitive p**** of a psychiatrist. I felt such a prat. (just learned that expression) Definitely, bring someone with you. Drs. are far less likely to appear insensitive when there is a witness. Also, write key points on index cards.

Talking to your doctor about difficult topics is often intimidating, but it doesn't have to be! If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's okay to take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that your doctor is there to help. Once you're ready, you can start the conversation by simply asking your doctor for their opinion on the matter. They may even have helpful advice or resources to share.

It's understandable to be anxious about speaking to a doctor about this. First, it's essential to recognize that you don't need to have all of the symptoms of Dyspraxia to be diagnosed. Even if you don't fit the exact criteria, it's worth talking to your doctor to see if this is something you may be dealing with. If you don’t trust your doctor enough, you may need to find another specialist. I recommend checking out [Non-permitted link removed by Admin] for reviews and recommendations of the best doctors in various fields to choose the one with whom you can discuss your problem. Above all, remember that your doctor is there to help and wants to hear what you have to say. They’re used to hearing about difficult topics, so don't feel like you have to sugarcoat anything. Just be honest and open, and you should have a good conversation. Good luck!
