What do you study at university/ college, and what would you like to get out of your degree/ HND/ HNC/ other further education course? Where can you see yourself in 10 years time?

I'm doing landscape management at Reading. I would like to get a good grade, aiming for a 2.1 to restore some confidence in my abilities. Although I am already more confident than when I started the course and learning about my Dyspraxia has made a terrific difference.

I want to work with trees and plants and things! Ideally I am aiming for a position with the National Trust. They have 3 regional curators for their historic gardens and by the time I'm 50! I may have gathered enough experience to do the job justice. In 10 years time I would really like to be working for my local council on the challenge of getting more people to use our Urban green spaces (parks & stuff). This will show my ability to tackle complex issues with many user groups and other very impressive things(eek!) [-o<

I'm studying for the OCR Level 3 Certificate for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support). Um, that means I'm learning how to become an IT technician. Next year I'll be doing an A level in Computer Science or something, and after that I might do a degree, or I might go looking for work. Depends how well I do, I guess ;)

What I don't understand is this key skills business, seems like a lot of money spent on something that isn't of great use to employers.
I know what it is meant to do, but just seems like a waste of time and money.

I am studying a ba in Geography with Education studies in Plymouth currently in my first year

I picked up my transcript today with my official results for my first semester. I am quite pleased but i think my geography teacher was a bit dissapoint with me in 2 of the units i got 2.2 and in the other unit i got a 3rd.

I didn't do too well in the exam and I don't think the marker could read my exam paper very easily because my hand got gery tired and I could not write legibly so I have now requested to use a computer in the next set of exams this has been approved as it was a recomendation in my needs assesment but it is clear that the disability support team here did not read it as it was not noted until I pointed it out to them, so hopefully in may my coursework and exams should be as good as one another

Well done Emma for passing your exams- all you need in 1st year is a pass, so your doing well to be (often) getting way over that! :D

Philip- that sounds complex and technical (as you can tell, i aint much of a computer whizz, heehee!) but you seem very capable so im sure you enjoy it! :D

Its an amazing place... though with my complete lack of sense of direction, its a nightmare to navigate!

I'm really into fashion photography, which is ultimately what I want to do, but, when just pottering about, I like pictures of architecture and industrial-looking places. And like you say, anything unusual :)
