Hi i am matt

Post by mattyjacko »

Hi my names matt I am 20 and untill a month or so ago i had been told i had dyspraxia but it had never been properley proven but i finaly took a psychologists report in december which confirms it and it explains so many things. for years i was told that it only affected my handwriting but in the last few months iv learned so much about my disability which i had never been tought. I always thought i was bad at team sports and had bad sense of direction just because that was me so its weird to learn that it is because of a disability and to find that it has affected my life much more then i thought it did. Anyway more about myself. I am at leeds university in my first year studying geography and management i am part of many clubs my main club is the rock soc as i love rock and metal music, i also do archery, pool and lacrosse. I realy like lacrosse but i am so badly suited to playing it. A small skinny slow dyspraxic guy isnt going to be the best lacrosse player but i think i do pretty well considering and it is fun so i dont care. I have never met anyone who knows what dyspraxia is let alone someone who has it so it would be great to meet someone with dyspraxia.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm 24 and was diagnosed with dyspraxia when I was 15. I volunteer in a toyroom in a charity shop, for a dyslexia organisation and at my local library.

I loved lacross at school.. I was always the goalie.. but found something in lacross that really suited my dyspraxia.. perhaps it was the violence LOL (I went to a public girls school!!) ~ well good thing you're at uni ~ doing geography too!! good stuff.. now you're properly diagnosed you 'll be able to find you're way round (life, & yourself, and not to mention the things around you!) a bit better now.. anyways good to meet you!!
