Possible dyspraxia adult

Post by CLum5y »

Hello

I am 54 years old and have always been very clumsy all of my life.
I am diagnosed Asperger's which helps explain much of why I have had so many difficulties.

I also think I might have dyspraxia but don't know all of the symptoms.

I had to give driving up as a bad job as I could not judge speed and distance.
I learnt to pedal a bike at 9, but to this day, cannot cycle on the roads, I would feel a liability.
Things like leapfrog, leaping over fences and other normal kid stuff was not possible for me.
I bump my head a lot.
A curious thing is that one of my shoes wears down much faster than the other.
I feel lopsided a little.
When I dance, my legs just won't do as I want, even though I sometimes like dancing.
It's like my left side is a lot weaker than my right. I am right handed.
I have attention problems.
I am impulsive.

I am dextrous and can write neat.

I don't know any other symptoms of adult dyspraxia, or childhood dyspraxia.

I'd love to know other symptoms to see if they resonate with how I have been thoroughout my life.

Thanks

Hi Welcome

How people present with Dyspraxia varies quite a lot and there's an extensive list of symptoms/traits some of which are already familiar as some can also be associated with AS. Some dyspraxics manage to defy or mask these traits through developing coping strategies, others struggle more profoundly.

Exceptional Individuals also have an Online questionnaire
