Married to a dyspraxic adult in denial

Post by LadyJaja »

Hi,
I have ADHD (diagnosed as an adult). My husband was diagnosed dyspraxic as a child with dyslexia. He has overcome the most obvious problems with movement and reading etc however I believe he still struggles as he has a limited capacity. Does anyone know where and how I can find specific information on the practical things that are difficult for an adult with dyspraxia? Thanks 😊

We're all affected differently and react/respond in different ways.

There are plenty of sites that list traits and symptoms but we won't necessarily tick the box for all of these things. As guys we feel a societal pressure to be capable and we don't like to feel that we've failed in these things.

Both our self perceived failures and any that other people perhaps unnecessarily point out often weigh very heavily on us. Even if we've done well there are often nagging doubts that can prevent us being our best selves.
