Re: Can Dyspraxia Lead to Anxiety Disorders?

Yes this site is good Tom, as to dyspraxia leading to anxiety I am certain that it does for a number of reasons, slow processing speed means it can take longer for us to cotton on which in my case means that I worry that people think I am thick and when I use coping strategies that I am being awkwar...

writing about living with dyspraxia for general audience

Hi all, I am mulling over the idea of writing a novel with a central character who is dyspraxic with the aim of showing both positive and negative sides of living with dyspraxia, what do people think about this idea? and if I did does anyone fancy co-authoring it /proof reading. I was think a diary ...

Re: Baaargh so fed up and frustrated.

I hate interviews too! I know I am probably teaching my granny to suck eggs but is there anyone who does mentoring either at your work or via unison who could talk you through ways to maximise the chances of success, also you could try relaxation ( or thinking of your interviewers sat on the toilet....

Re: Bad day!

Me too I have been there, I think our sensory systems work differently to others, I would go with the over load suggestion, sometimes if you have had a lot [ what a lot is will depend on you] of stimulation the day before you can find yourself feeling very tired the next day or at least that's what ...

Re: Why are we messy? How to be tidy?

yes I struggle to be tidy, yet I do know someone who is dyspraxic and obssessively tidy, although I suspect that this is obssessional having a place for everything and everything in its place, my suggestions are poor visual perception, poor sequencing and poor short term memory all contribute to the...

Re: Being organised and not getting lost

Thanks for your message Tom, its good to know that I'm not alone, and you are probably right that supplements aren't any help, I would recommend that dreaded word exercise and when I do exercise it really does help! that and a healthy diet. I think I don't say no because I am afraid that they will f...

Being organised and not getting lost

Hi all, posting to day because I am feeling a bit down about work. Just can't seem to fit everything I need to do into my day. I am I think really good at complex problem solving... though not it seems for myself but rubbish at being organised and focused [ maybe I should try medication although not...

Re: Medication for concentration at work

Can't suggest medication/ supplements and would worry about the effect they had on your body, but I am in the same situation (and my colleagues insist on having the radio on) so I am about to try ear plugs about £3 from boots you (or you could use an MP3 player if you have music you can work to. cou...

Just hope you don't do what I have done and jump from the frying pan into the fire!! It feels like you can cut the atmosphere where I am working with a knife and I don't know how I have upset my colleague.

Hi There welcome!
The best way to get the most out of the forums is to post and read them... but not so much it takes over your life just now and then I'd say but others may think differently!

Re: Hey guys, a intro about me

Welcome! Just to say you should look into some of the health care professions, I think you would probably make a great Occupational Therapist but as an OT I can't say it would be easy as they cut back on admin and so on, if you do decide to do that being a teaching assistant or any other job with pe...
