Re: dyspraxia sleeping problem/fears...

hi all! :) I have what I call 'puffer dreams' but I believe the correct term is 'Night Terrors' :S lol! Since, well, as long as I can remember I have dreamt of what I can only describe as a 'figure' who 'comes to get me' and stands in my way, just stares at me, at which point the air around me becom...

Re: Why and how do our brains work differently

Hi Pinksun, I hope you are well :) The exact cause of dyspraxcia isn't yet known but there are thought to be some contributing factors. Such as, were you born prematurely do you know? It is all to do with our brains not developing fully as a baby. Think of it like a computer; all the parts are there...

Re: Negative/destructive comments from others get me down

Thanks :) Usually I tend to laugh them off, or ignore them completely, acting as if nothings wrong but every time, inside I am hurting and often over analysing it for a long time to come afterwards, getting in the way of over things. I do tend to obsess over the comments a fair bit, which I know is ...

Negative/destructive comments from others get me down

I always pride myself and often describe myself as being a bubbly and out going individual, who enjoys meeting and talking to new people, large groups and public speaking don't phase me in the slightest. Being on stage or infront of the camera is where I feel most alive, and in my comfort zone! Self...

Re: I was assessed..

Hi there binaryfinary, hope you are well :) First of all, Welcome to the forum! I am awaiting a referral from my GP, to a psychologist, I believe. Mine is the other way around to yours, I think that for me personally, dyspraxcia affects my gross motor skills rather than my fine. I can tie shoelaces,...

Birth defects/disabilities

I have read that being born premature, can be a factor in those with dyspraxcia, although the exact cause is unknown, I am led to believe that due to an under development of the brain (previously refered to to as 'minimal brain damage') the 'hard wiring' is incomplete, if you will. As I have previou...

How about rhythm, we are lacking in that too, right?? Just the mere mention of gym... aerobics, dance etc. Oh and forwards/tuck rolls, handstands, cartwheels etc? Forget it!! :S lol!

Re: dyspraxic people insecure and too needy or is it just me

I tend to set myself some impossibly high standards too, every day. But when it comes to relationships, I often wonder if that is infact healthier, rather than just 'settling for/making do' :S I fear and dread rejection, although think that is a just a human character trait :)

Re: Jumping

Hi Andrea, I hope you are well :) I took up karate during my teens to help with my self confidence, and found I had the same problem as you mention here; jumping :S Although, I'd say my biggest was remembering the sequences I had to do to move up a grade/belt... Needless to say, as most things, I ga...

Re: Struggling with budgeting

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply :) I do keep for receipts... for a day or so, until I decide the product is not faulty etc. :S lol! I get a mini statement and then a printed balance every time I draw cash out, so I know what I have left and how long that has got to last me but then something 'shinny' ...

I know it's a tad random and I probably posting this in the wrong place etc but if anyone has any answers/ideas it would be much appreciated :) Is there a way/am I able to change my username??
