Re: Dyspraxia and associated conditions

Hi Aine, I still struggled with blow drying my hair, I found 1 of those hair dryers which is brush and hair dryer at same time helpful, I keep my hair in a short bob well cut so I only have to brush and not style, as to make I usually go au naturelle ..... easier by far than the daily struggle with ...

Re: Have I or Haven't I?

To me you sound like you do have dyspraxia, its hard to diagnose and easily missed even by professionals unless you have the proper training. Did they ask you to do novel movements? If they did not then they may have missed key issues for you

Re: professions of use

He/she should also be a qualified occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychologist or speech and language therapist..... also important to check professional bodies for OTs physiotherapists s...

Re: Hello new member here, is teaching or admin a good job for a newly diagnosed dyspraxic

Maybe you could try doing a swot analysis on your self strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats, then go out and find out what is available and what each job entails admin would be a nightmare for me and as a school governor and seeing what teacher's do personally I would avoid but you may be ...

Re: Occupational therapists in London, England

Hi I have seen pre and post videos of people who have had Sensory integration therapy, hoping to organise some for my daughter and if and when funds allow for myself as I am convinced that it might be the long term solution to being organised, instead of being exhausted by strategies..... take a loo...

Re: Communicating with teachers about dyspraxia

Hi Do you have an assessment report? If so it should have recommendations for things that help. In my experience here in the UK from a parents and school governors perspective it helps to go with solutions not just the problem. Also have you considered Occupational Therapy, if you are able to fund t...
