Me neither. I never liked kids much even when I was one myself. Still I respect each person's right to make their own decision on the matter.

[ I have been looking into doing an Open University course myself recently too. It's only £500 for the first year and could make an exponential difference to employment opportunity, even if one has done exceptionally well at college. I got the top mark at college, but it was a computer course back ...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

That's so true. The internet does make it extremely difficult for us to discern the meaning of what is written. That leaves us so very vulnerable to projection. When I first read all of this commotion about a single word ( which was a very innocent incredulous response, not sarcastic) I was just li...

Yeah, I'm just going to say this now, I did excellently at college. Superbly. In fact, I got into the local newspaper I did so well at college. When I was at university, I wanted to either progress to further studies and become an academic/professor (I think that's a dream to put to bed now) or bec...

Re: Being compared to being on drugs

We accept risk with every decision we take. My point is that either alcohol, weed and tobacco should be illegal or they should all be legal. The way it works right now implies that weed is more dangerous, when it is far less dangerous. My main point is simply that pushing weed underground is not th...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

I don't know that one can compare spoken dialogue from a TV show with written text. The latter has no facial expression, no tone or voice inflection, etc. Therefore it might be good idea to ask for clarification when in doubt. I do, however find it interesting that just one little word could elicit...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

Can see views on this are somewhat polarised. If it were possible being able to 'like' a post, it could give the poster a sense that his or her post/response had been at least acknowedged but sometimes a like can be construed as inflammatory! Yeah, I think a rating system would probably reduce the ...

Re: Being compared to being on drugs

Alcohol and tobacco are genuinely dangerous, yeah, but weed has never killed anybody in the thousands of years it has been smoked, so I'm glad that the US and Canada are waking up to the idea of legalisation. The UK is still somewhat behind, however. I agree with you that laws that ban drugs and al...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

[ Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. All I said was 'seriously?' The rest was your projection; those are your words not mine I apologize if my previous post was too harsh. It seems as if our wires have got inadvertently crossed. The word 'seriously' is not much used as a one word utterance o...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

Seriously?? That response comes across as a sarcastic attitude of disbelief to my previous post if I understand you correctly. I was honestly doing my best to respond to your original post. You are more than welcome to disagree with me or any other responses. But your treating of forum members who ...

Re: Happy St Patricks Day

I'm not Irish but know we have people from there though my wishes were late if you go by Forum time. There is a school of thought that a young St Patrick was picked up from the banks of the Severn and transported to Ireland as a slave, so it could be claimed he was from Gloucestershire. St George w...

Re: Do any of you have weak ankles?

I definitely had weak ankles as a kid. I was always reprimanded by my parents for walking with my toes in like a pigeon. But really that was dealing with the symptoms rather than the underlying cause. As well as weak ankles, I have rather floppy joints everywhere. Nevertheless, I like to think that ...

Re: Keeping Current With Fresh Posts

I don't post that often. One reason is that I have an internet addiction and I have to rationthe amount of time I spend online. Some people on this site are also dyslexic as well as dyspraxic, so they might not be able to write quickly. One suggestion I have is that it would be beneficial to have a ...
