Re: Extreme fatigue

*Waves* Hello! I was a teen very like yours! In fairness, given half a chance, I would still spend all my time in bed! My brother is the same and described it as us being energy efficient - everyone else's default setting is on, but ours is off! There is another thread on here somewhere - I forget w...

Re: I tell people I'm dyspraxic everyone asks if it's dyslexia.

I'm a student teacher and my tutors keep telling me that I'm in tertiary education and must get over it. Urgh - I'm so sorry they're being like this. As an SpLD, Dyspraxia technically falls under the 'Protected Characteristic' of disability, under the Equality Act. https://www.equalityhumanrights.c...

Re: Video games

RPGs are my favorite genre of game. On the PC I play The Elder Scrolls Online from time to time, depending on whether I feel like subscribing or not. Runes of Magic is a great F2P game that doesn't require too much coordination. It's really great if you like crafting. The only downside is it pretty...

Re: Newly diagnosed with Dyspraxia

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am in the UK and am on the waiting list for CBT. I think I've been blaming myself for a long time that I'm just a horrible person and everything is my fault. Having a diagnosis of dyspraxia is a lot to take in, but I've got a great support circle. Is there any books tha...

Re: Newly diagnosed with Dyspraxia

Hi Emma! The best advice I have for you is to be as patient with yourself as possible. Firstly, re. childhood trauma: is there someone you can talk to about what you went through? If you’re in the UK, you might want to try IAPT to see if it’s possible to access therapy via the NHS? As for dyspraxia ...

Re: Struggling with relationships

I can relate so much to this - you are absolutely not alone! I say that my ‘face is crying’ when I get upset whilst trying to stay calm because the emotion I’m showing isn’t a reflection of what I want to show. Sometimes, just having the vocabulary to say that my body and my words don’t align is eno...

Re: PIP with no doctor?

I’ve not tried to access support for myself outwith education so not much help in terms of adults, but I might be able to shed some light on things for your son? We’re in Scotland so things now differ, but when I applied for financial support for my eldest, people under 16 were still being granted D...

Re: Hello all - and help with being organised??

I use a bullet journal (when I remember!) I used it faithfully for about a year and a half but then just sort of got out of the habit. I’m trying to start again though :) I do like having a week long plan up on the wall too - it means I can just glance over and don’t have to hold the information in ...

Re: Help

:ghug: Firstly, many hugs to you and I’m so sorry about your dad and your dog. Secondly, grief takes however long it takes - sometimes a lifetime, and that’s ok. I think because compassionate leave only lasts a certain number of days/weeks, we expect to feel better within that amount of time. The be...

Re: Anyone else have low muscle tone and bad back pain?

Wow. I just found this thread and can really relate to all of it. I’ve always felt incredibly physically feeble despite consistently trying my best in sports. My wrists and hands are my weakest joints, though my ankles are pretty terrible. And my left knee. I’m 37, so it’s hardly like I’m past it, b...

Re: sex and dyspraxia

I think our society has a bit of a scewed idea of what constitutes sex tbh. In Sex Ed at school we’re basically taught that unless there’s penetration, it’s not ‘real’ sex. But sex can be lots of things, and any touch can be a source of connection between consenting adults. You should absolutely foc...

So, what do you all play - if anything? I’m a lover of rpgs and people keep recommending Elden Ring to me, which is cool, and I love the world of it, but also there’s no difficulty options so I don’t have enough coordination to not die every two seconds by impaling myself on something. I’m a huge fa...
