Re: Does ADHD make dyspraxia worse?

Thanks Tom. Yes, I always struggled quite a bit at school with my self-esteem as I was quite noticeably the slowest runner and worst at [insert name of sport], which meant I rarely got any dopamine out of playing sport! Though I love watching certain sports. I don't think neurodivergence affects int...

Re: Does ADHD make dyspraxia worse?

Thanks Tom, I think I'm going to try again with the driving, but on ADHD medication. My concentration just isn't consistent enough unmedicated. It will be interesting to see whether the medication improves my coordination and my ability to get involved with sporting activity. My coordination certain...

Does ADHD make dyspraxia worse?

Hi all! I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD to go alongside an autism diagnosis, but I have also struggled greatly with coordination all my life. I've always thought this has been due to dyspraxia, which I'm certain I have, but I'm wondering whether my ADHD has made it look worse than it actual...

Re: Think I was wrongly diagnosed with autism, and that I have dyspraxia instead

Sadly I don't think people being labelled wrongly is that uncommon. There is a lot of crossover in the traits for Neurodivergent conditions and we all present uniquely. If the person who assessed you was not all that aware of Dyspraxia it's possible that they thought the Autism label would get you ...

Think I was wrongly diagnosed with autism, and that I have dyspraxia instead

Hi everyone, I am a 22 year old male University student studying an MSc in Strategic Marketing. I was diagnosed with autism aged 5, and was never formally diagnosed with dyspraxia, but as I have got older, I am increasingly wondering if I was given the wrong diagnosis, particularly when I look at th...

Learning to drive on and off for five years now

Hi everyone, Hope you're all keeping safe and well. I am just wondering how you have all found learning to drive? I have autism and dyspraxia, so it has been considerably harder for me than a lot of other people. I started learning to drive in a manual car at the end of 2016 when I was 17, and then ...
