Depression and mood
Is anyone else kind of depressed about been dyspraxic? I am dyspraxic and dyslexic. As well as probably having mild autism (undiagnosed). It just gets me down. Sick of been tired, of working so hard. Of taking so long to learn things. Of my sensory issues. The list goes on Please tell me someone els...

Best phone
So, been dyspraxic I drop things a lot. My phones are basically always covered in croaks.
Could anyone recommend a phone that durable to this?
I always have a phone case but find screen covers annoying.
Thankyou

Re: Sensory overload
Noise mainly. Sometimes flashing lights but thats normally only with noise. Im okay with most smells but I struggle at markets because of the smell of raw meat and fish.
But yeah, noise is the worse. Struggling alot at this time of year with fireworks.

Sensory overload
Does anyone else struggle with sensory overload? Anyone one got any tips? Currently, my tools are to take regular breaks. To try and introduce myself slowly/gently to new experiences. Also, not exactly a coping tool, but i find it much easier to cope with loud/busy places when im somewhere I already...

Re: Day To Day Tasks
Are there other people to share the responsibility with? If not, I recommend using routes and check lists to keep on track. Secondly, let yourself relax. As long as there you have something to wear, dont panic over a pile of washing. As long as frozen/fridge stuff is away, shopping can wait in the b...

Re: Problems following directions
I have no natural sense of direction! I regularly mix up left and right and struggle to read maps. My tips are: 1) google maps on your phone! 2) Go out and explore! Leave the instructions and just go with the flow!! Espeically if you can follow your phones GPS back 3) failing that try and stick to m...

Re: Should I disclose?
Hi Sorry to be late to the conversation. I recommend disclosing. Dont get me wrong, disclosing can be scary. If you disclose you take the risk of them being not understanding or mean because of you condition. But in thst case, you have occupational health and laws to help support you. Also, it creat...

Adapting to new areas of work
So I'm a student nurse. When I'm on a ward, Im fantastic! Last year (as a second year) I was doing everything. People regularly thought I was a final year. :bumps: :bumps: However, without much choice, I've been placed in a emergency department. Which (unsurprisingly) isn't a a area I'd pick. The ra...
