Re: Ignorance/assumptions/WE ARE INDIVIDUALS
I'm mostly on tills but with other responsibilities. The off the tills part of my job is rather vague which stresses me out so much. I mostly just get left on the tills and face up around with some putting stock out but I also am the only one in the shop who can do the newspapers and magazines ...

Re: You know you're dyspraxic when
Indeed, I don't know about anyone else but I really don't experience any change in my thought process when drunk. Only physical things, like getting light headed, dizzy, losing my already poor balance etc. But I don't find myself becoming any more socially unihitibitted, I don't say or do things I ...

Re: Ignorance/assumptions/WE ARE INDIVIDUALS
Hey Roxy86! Yeah, how'd you guess? haha I have no idea where I stand when each manager comes in since they each have their own points of focus. Though this manager doesn't seem to have a focus at all which makes it kind of worse. My Mum understands the child problems of dyspraxia but not that adult ...

Re: First time user, alcohol and dyspraxia thoughts needed
I don't know if it's a dyspraxic thing or not, but I know that It takes a while for my brain to realise how drunk I am. My speech supposedly changes quickly (maybe after 1 or 2 drinks) but I won't notice until I am 4 to 6 drinks in and am stumbling. Am I just really stupid in the rare occasions that ...

Re: You know you're dyspraxic when
That makes so much sence, is it a dyspraxia thing? I was just confused about how I am not drunk but then suddenly am very much so. I thought I was just being stupid about alcohol!Alistair wrote: Alcohol affects your body WAY before your mind (this one is scary)

Re: Moving out
I am 21 and am desperate to move out of my Mums. My Dad left a decade ago, my little brother has moved 3 times in the last year and has a son and stepson and seems on the surface to have it made for himself. They both are Aspergers and needed out of my Mum's controlling ways but since they've gone ...

Re: Ignorance/assumptions/WE ARE INDIVIDUALS
At my work I have the same problem. I have made countless notes for myself as well as others at work (brightly coloured so I will take notice and hopefully others too) but they just keep getting taken down. It doesn't help that I am more work focused that some and definately not as sociable and they ...

Re: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary
I love Doctor Who, the new and the old (not so much the 7th Doctor but he may win me round one day). When the writing goes through a rough patch its still a part of the Doctor's life and its true to being a person since we all go through ups and downs. Am in a Tom Baker spree at the moment with my ...

Re: Problems with communication and socialisation
Big groups of people or when people are too close make me nervous. I think its why I like my job at the tills, no one can get too close because the tills are in the way. :) I seem to find one friend and them being super judgy of everyone else I like so only having that one friend. It doesn't help ...

Re: Problems with communication and socialisation
Hey, I have very similar problems to you. I have one friend outwith my Mum and my brothers girlfriend who I can talk to most days and I feel very lucky to have her but I know she is just my friend because she is just as alone and knows that I'm not exactly going anywhere when she returns from her ...

Re: Uncomfort
I know what you mean about being uncomfortable. The muscles in my stomach contract and I start to play with my hands and shake a bit and get weepy and feel pathetic and useless if I don't understand something or am in a new situation or have made something seem far scarier than it is (e.g. I couldn ...

Re: Why are we messy? How to be tidy?
My Mum has always said that my room reflects the state of my mind. If I'm more stressed or tired I seem to get more dyspraxic almost, so as I've gotten older I've understood that better...doesn't help me be any more tidy though. If I'm honest, it annoys me that fact that my Mum understands why my ...

Hi!
I wish I'd found this sooner! Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 21 (diagnosed with dyspraxia at around age 8 or 9) and I'm Scottish. I have been half heartedly searching for answers for things for years and have slowly come to my own conclusions about things but in the last few posts I've read there are a few ...
