Re: Baaargh so fed up and frustrated.
I'm sorry that this long-term problem is escalating. It must be especially frustrating that you've been so close to getting the job that you want. A few years back while I was working at well known British company, I had a boss who was making my life so miserable that I literally felt sick every tim...

Re: At uni, newly diagnosed and panicking.
Yes, of course. Our work does vary more than the neurotypical. I'm astonished that someone who is not even a member of staff has the temerity to make such an accusation. Indeed, I would say that she sounds like an officious old sow. She obviously needs to remove her head from her rectum every now an...

Re: Frustration and the path forward
@LGB, I'm sorry to read bout your frustrations at work. A few years ago I also was frustrated with the conventional world of work, so I did a TEFL certificate. I am still working in this area to date. You may know that most TEFL certificate courses are highly stressful intense affairs that pack a lo...

Re: At uni, newly diagnosed and panicking.
@jack200 Those accusations really must be devastating. Could I clarify one thing? Is the person who wants to put your work through Turnitin a member of staff? If so, it might be to your advantage to allow her to do this. That is because when you are found to be innocent, she's going to look a bit of...

Re: Can Dyspraxia Lead to Anxiety Disorders?
Anxiety is a natural response to stress.A common definition of stress is "the psychological and emotional strain that is an experienced by a person if they are unable (or feel unable) to meet goals that are personally important to them." It is highly likely that dyspraxics will experience ...

I too was diagnosed quite late in life, but you seem to be making a far better go of things than me, so well-done. I still brood on this condition all too often, and sometimes wonder how much better things would have been without it or at least diagnosed earlier.

"takes me three times longer than a 'normal' person."
That sounds like me at everything. Not just house cleaning.

Re: More Involuntary Celibate Dyspraxic Males than Females?
Sorry for my slow reply, always_elan and wayard. I was traveling for a few months without regular access to the internet. @always_elan Normally, the love shy condition, is used to describe people aged 21 or more who have never had the experience of dating/romance in their lives and have therefore mi...

Re: Why are we messy? How to be tidy?
I also have a problem of untidiness. It has caused friction between my senior relatives and me, even as an adult. I do try to 'keep a lid on it' as far as I can. I have been trying to work out why other dyspraxics and I have this problem and suspect that dyspraxia is probably the reason. However, as...

Re: Negative/destructive comments from others get me down
The (O.P.) original poster has raised the interesting issue of the fine line that exists between good-natured teasing and its malignant cousin taunting (aka verbal bullying). It is awfully difficult to draw the line between these two things, but these are some of the criteria that I have come across...

Re: do I believe the assessment?
I've just looked at your figures again. I'm still scratching my head at them and am not surprised that you are confused. What is especially confusing is your visual reasoning being in the 95th percentile. Are you sure you don't mean verbal reasoning? Or is visual reasoning, another name for perceptu...

By 'TA" do you mean Teaching Assistant or Territorial Army? Thanks for the breakdown of figures. They are rather different from mine which are as follows. Full Scale IQ : 84th percentile Verbal Comprehension: 97th percentile (this is supposed to be the best overall indicator of intelligence) Pe...

Re: My dyspraxic sister constantly turns the central heating
Yes, it does seem ridiculously selfish, especially since your mother is sick. I really can't see any justification for this behavior, dyspraxia notwithstanding. I am dyspraxic and I admit that I don't like overly warm rooms (>22 degrees C), while my father did. However, I would never have been allow...

Re: Baaargh so fed up and frustrated.
The absurd expectations of certain executives never ceases to amaze me. Demand more and more out of their employees for no incentives. And then wonder why so many of them have to go on long-term sick leave. Some of these executives are just so short sighted! Things haven't really changed much since ...

Re: do I believe the assessment?
My EP's report said of me that "it is likely that he has dyspraxia and dyslexia." I don't think EP's are able to actually say outright that you have it. But after reading her explanations it would be hard to dismiss her conclusion. I don't have a copy of the report with me right now. But i...
