Re: Dyspraxia and sexuality

lol at the irony, on one 'hand' men with higher testosterone are more likely to be gay but then dyspraxic males are more likely gay, then on the other hand there is a link between ring to index finger length ratio and testosterone and you guessed it dyspraxic males are more likely to have lower test...

Re: Online Dating Progress

I have been on a well known dating site beginning with M for around 2-3 years, I've not got anywhere but mostly my fault as I tend to wait for things to happen rather than go for it myself, I have had a fair amount of interest to my surprise but similar experience to above - people will 'wink' or se...

Re: Nerves when speaking to people for the first time

Definitely a dyspraxic trait I think.. I use to get really nervous going into a pub or similar environment and sometimes would almost just walk away rather than face it though to my credit I don't think I actually ever did walk away!, I have got better since joining a local community pub but still t...

Re: Which finger is longer?

Sad but true.. I actually just measured as I had a ruler next to me.. They are identical in length at 7.6cm each if I measure from where they appear to 'start' although my ring finger will always appear longer because it starts slightly higher up on my hand, unless I'm some sort of freak, which woul...

Re: makes life unbearable

Hi Groentje, I hope you are feeling better about yourself?, I read through your list and it sounded exactly like I was reading a list I would write about myself and how I feel. The hardest problem with dyspraxia for me is like that of an alcoholic - admitting to myself and others that I have a probl...

Re: muscle spasms in legs

Hi Steve,

I get spasms in the higher part of my legs sometimes, usually after sitting down for a while, not sure if it has anything to do with dyspraxia though, I guess if any more people come on here saying this there may be a link?.

Re: Dyspraxia vs. Aspergers

Hi Starduster You sound very similar to myself (even though I'm male), in that the dyspraxia is fairly mild physically and I can play sports etc though not as good as I would like, socially I really struggle and am always stressed about how to act what to think and get obsessed with small details so...

Would you?

If there was an operation that could cure dyspraxia would you have it performed on you knowing there was a 50/50 chance of success and if it didn't work you would die in the process?.

Just interested to know how others would act here, I would 100% go for it.

Re: Lack of determination

Hi Moot, You are not lazy, you sound just like me really and sometimes I might think I am lazy too but if I actually think about it I am quite the opposite, I work very hard but things don't come naturally to me and so things others may find simple really tax me and tire me out mentally. One of the ...

Re: Can't go on like this..

Thanks for replying everyone it does help to know I am not alone out there, I still feel very down especially this time of year when others are celebrating the new year I just feel so alone but your advice does help. I don't think bottling things up helps and is something I must address, I just wish...

Can't go on like this..

Hi, I'm really struggling to not feel suicidal, life in every respect is making me feel down, work is a nightmare - I am in a managerial role but can't manage, some of this down to my dyspraxia, some down to the stupid way things are done anyway but I can't see a way out because if I give up this jo...

Re: Can dyspraxic people drive manual cars

Yes - I am dyspraxic and have driven for 15 years now without any major issues, I passed on the 3rd attempt but I don't believe my failure's were down to the dyspraxia, more down to my nervous tension during the tests, I truly believe if I'd had a few drinks before hand I would have probably passed ...

Re: dyspraxia and dyslexia

The two conditions definetly overlap to some degree, I think I am fairly competent with spelling (feel free to point out any mistakes!) but I cannot use punctuation correctly, although this might have more to do with not ever learning the skill rather than not having the ability/understanding. I wou...

Re: As if I needed further proof....

Hi Elessar, I am a similar age to you (32) and by the sounds of it you went through something quite similar to me, although I wouldn't say it was as bad for me I do identify with a lot of what you are describing, the main problem with me was that I could read and write ok, do basic maths etc but wit...
