Hiya from Scotland

Post by Humpty86 »

Hi everyone.

So I've fallen through the cracks a little. When i was a kid, I was taken to the doctor as I kept falling over. And I'm pretty bad at time management too. Got told I was clumsy and would grow out of it. Well now I am 37, and yesterday I fell over. I am looking to learn from some of you on here. Went to the doctor two years ago who told me that there was no adult diagnosis. This could just be for my council maybe? Does anyone know if there are private assessments?

Cheers

Hi Humpty86

Hi and welcome

All too often there is little or no NHS provision pathway for adults.

Private assessment seem to cost of the order of £500+.Dyspraxia UK have a network of Occupational Therapists (OTs) or PATOSS are an association for specialist teachers who might be able to assess.

Depending on your circumstances it's worth seeing if your employers Occupational Health provision are able to fund or share costs. There may be other avenues you can look into.
