Do you fake emotions?

I regularly fake my emotions to seem normal...
Like at my Nan's funeral everyone said I was strong for not crying...
But I only felt sad for my dad not my Nan - and even that was in a conceptual way...
I sometimes even fake cry - I can do it on demand.

Is that typical for you guys... or is it just a me thing?

Hi and Welcome

Despite our common condition and some common traits we're all unique in our ways and coping strategies.

Masking is quite a common thing for neurodivergent people, though I don't personally feel that I'm that good at hiding my emotions but I do worry too much about how some might perceive me.

I was in work, the day after my mother passed but there is no right or wrong way to react to grief just your way. Some people are more affected by the loss of a pet than some family members.

I have a problem communicating how I feel my friends, but seem to be okay at it in romantic relationships. I think other people feel I'm not being honest, or not being serious when I say something because I can't get over this. I also feel weird hugging people, even if they're a close friend.
