Working memory dyspraxia versus ADHD

Post by ALADDIN »

I have dyspraxia, ADHD and Aspergers traits.

I have discovered that anxiety makes my working memory worse , affects dyspraxia initially , gradually ADHD.

Working memory issues affects handwritings, typing . Driving etc.

There is an overlap between dyspraxia and ADHD.

Number of meals you cook, tasks to do ,also if you gave anxiety and depression it can lead you to lose your routine , not undertake self care, forget to eat etc.

I believe they're all interrelated and feed off each other.

I've never considered it necessary to pursue formal assessment of ADHD but I do see myself as having traits. Dyspraxia often interferes with executive function and part of this is a deficit in working memory. This in itself can ramp up anxiety and anxiety interferes with working memory.

As Neurodivergent individuals we're unique but the various component conditions and their effects can present in a variety of ways depending on what we're trying to do and our varying physical or emotional states foe example tiredness, frustration, anxiety all have a bearing.

I see it's been a while since this was posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone has had new experiences with this lately. I've found that being upfront and casual about it with close friends has helped loads, but I still freeze up around new people. Has anyone tried explaining it in a really simple way that seems to go over well? Curious how others handle that first convo.

Anxiety really can mess with working memory, and it’s frustrating how it affects everything from handwriting to daily tasks. I've noticed that when I'm stressed, I end up missing simple things like meals or forgetting to take breaks, which just makes everything harder.
