I'm still waiting for my appointment to confirm whether or not I have dyspraxia too, but considering the dyspraxia website seems to have my life story splashed accross 3 pages, I think it's probable that I am. One of the most difficult problems I've encountered is teaching my children to write, as I can't hold a pencil properly so it's almost impossible to show them.
I also need to start looking for a job soon, and I must confess I'm a little scared about it. I seem to manage an average of about 18 months before I leave a job, either I can no longer stand the other staff, or they can't stand me - I do try to be tactful, but I seem to rub people up the wrong way and I don't know why
Still there's lots of things I'm quite good at, I love animals and I keep lots of tropical fish. I like cooking and making things (at the moment I'm going through a soap making phase) but I'm not very good at tidying up afterwards. I hate housework - I'm happy to clean things, but getting tidy enough to clean is a problem. As for ironing, I generally put more creases in than I take out.
My day generally involves me running around like a headless chicken, with a huge long list of things I need to do. Yet suddenly evening comes and I don't seem to have managed to tick anything off my list, nor could I tell you what I've done for most of the day as my short term memory is diabolical.
I must admit I was really relieved when I found out about dyspraxia though, cause I've realised that I'm not the only person in the world like me and that is such a relief!
Got to go now, as I have an appointment at my elder daughters school with the special needs teacher. It feels a little strange, and I'm not sure what we'll discuss, especially as my daughter won an academic award to go to the school. But hopefully the teacher will have more ideas and suggestions that may help.
I look forwards to meeting you all more in the near future....
