I was diagnosed when I was 16 and at that time I had more issues with learning and writing skills more than anything. Now that im 5 years older it is apparent that my verbal skills have slightly detoriated in fact that some sentences come out wrong, not very often but noticeable.
Im not sure if anyone has noticed symptoms becoming more apparent as time moves on.

not in all areas for myself.
like my balance has got worse, which in turn have made my knee's worse.
and my memory has got worse, as I used to have a really good memory, even coping to remember my brothers 500 sweet shopping lists!! well not quite litterally, but felt like it, now after he says 2 things, I am having to write it down.
and knowing left from right, especially in a truck, maybe because I am constantly watching for other road users, and the size of the vehicle.
and when asked for directions, then I will say one thing, even if my hands are doing the opposite!! I find it slightly easier thinking doing hand signs as well, but it totally confuses the other person!! (well how do they think we feel being distracted, especially when we are trying to remember stuff ourselves!!)
what was the shopping list again?!

I feel my symptoms have changed, some have got better or gone away almost, some are worse. I was a rebelous teen so Im sure Iv done myself some damage with drink, drug and eating disorders, but partly I just think some things Iv devaloped coping mechanisms for and somethings Iv came to the limit of my inteligence being able to cover them up.
well, i had no idea until fairly recently that i had a learning difficulty so i can't give a definite comparison.
however, i do feel like my speech in particular has gotten much worse as i don't remember being embarrassed quite as often as i am now! but i think that everything else has stayed the same, based on situations that i can remember and now know were down to being dyspraxic.

Re: symptoms are exacerbated due to the aging process
I am a CDD adult who also lives with Asperger's Syndrome.
I am not sure if there are any adults in this helpsite who have dual DX but I find the dyspraxia is a more difficult issue to deal with due to problems with employment vis a vis clumsiness both verbal and nonverbal. Yes, I find that as a woman in my fifties I am more and more prone to clumsiness. Co-workers are not understanding. They wonder about my competency and credentials. When I am hired for a new position I do not inform them about my challenges, though I wish I could, but... I also worry about my employment being terminated. I know I am working as hard as I am able. Finances can be tight, as I am supporting four people, including myself. If anyone out there has any suggestions I would appreciate hearing from them.
Thanks, Susan
