Dyspraxic Adults

Hey guys, I went into town with wife tonight to see a live medium,

well known guy, worked on most haunted, SIMON PETERS.

anyway, cut a long story short, i was talking to him in the interval and went up to thank him as he found my dental problems and my repaired ingrown toe nails at the last show of his I went to.

after telling him how grateful I was of his discovery, I told him about getting my diagnosis for dyspraxia only to hear he was gobsmacked when I mentioned it because he was diagnosed with dyspraxia and dyslexia at a young age. I have agreed to keep coming to his shows in the future when I can and keep him posted.

Yes Einstein is dyspraxic...

I heard something about actor/comedian Robin Williams being NVLD, which is pretty much dyspraxic by American terms. I'm not sure it's an official thing though. Many artistic people and many smart people tend to be learning disabled in one way or another. Gwen Stefani has said she has ADHD and Tom Cruise has dyslexia.

I'm sure of those last two by the way, but Tom kind of denies it now because of his religious views...

Left-handed, clumsy, trusting, naive, unaware of people's real feelings, physically weak, can't swim or tie shoe laces...

Well, I don't have most of those traits, but I've read that they're common.

Einstein must have had fun at school then!!! as he was dyslexic as well!

To me the obvious one is Homer Simpson.
He should be our mascot.

Ok so he can bowl and dance, but we all have some skills that buck the trend don't we?
For example I'm a good cook, I can make several things at once with (near) perfect timing.

I have heard it stated that quite a few great authors were dyspraxic, including Jack Kerouac; Emily Bronte; Ernest Hemingway, and George Orwell.

I also know for a fact that the renowned photographer, David Bailey, is dyspraxic.

with his talents for hyper focus I would expect that kerouac's predomenant nd conditions would be adhd, but I guess he could have dyspraxia also

I have tried writing. I'm good at the 200 word "flash fiction" format.
Anything longer, I get tired and bored and never get it finished.

I am quite sure, yes. Dyspraxia has been known to correlate with a high verbal IQ, but sometimes other factors - such as the discrepancy between thinking and actualizing - tend to mask such talents from the world.

Writing is definitely my (only) talent, and one of the moderators on Dyspraxic Teens is a published author.

Writing is my strong point as well, although I tend to write poetry more than anything remotely "bookish" in length lol.
