Left handed

Post by lauren21 »

I'm left handed and just interested if dyspraxia is more common in left handed people! :)

No idea, but I think ambidexterity or poorly defined hand dominance is.

Ambidextrous can be quite common in Dyspraxics because we are all cross lateral ,which means you could be left handed .right eye dominance, maybe left eared , or right footed .or ambidextrous,Its only when you get rigorous tests that it begins to make sense. My son was asked to hop across the room he hopped on his left foot ,when he was asked to hop back he came back on his right foot,so it doesn't just affect the hands it can affect the feet as well its just you dont realise it until its pointed out.

Hi! I find this part of dyspraxia fascinating. I write left handed, eat right handed would throw a punch right handed, play cricket and tennis again right handed. Even when I play football my main sport my main foot I use is the right although I can use left when required and have recently tried to use more. For me cross lateral seems right however must be ambidextrous in the sense i can use both hands but neither too well especially when i was younger when playing tennis cricket bowling id switch hands whilst playing bizarre!
