Hi everyone
Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum. Unlike most of you I'm not from Great Britain but from Belgium
I'm a woman aged 23 (turning 24 this year) and will soon be graduating as a translator with French and Portuguese as my languages. I decided to join this forum because in Belgium, there is hardly any information available for adults with dyspraxia (it's mostly about children and how their parents and teachers should handle it). Just recently, a Facebook group was started for adolescents and young adults from Belgium (and meanwhile The Netherlands also) who suffer from dyspraxia, and that's been really helpful, but before this, there was practically nothing, and certainly no forums to talk about it. So I'm glad I stumbled upon this one. Officially I never had a diagnosis, when I was almost 16 some tests established that I had a delay in my motor development, but nobody ever mentioned the term "dyspraxia". I discovered it when I found out that Daniel Radcliffe had it, and then I thought, maybe I have it too... That's now 2 or 3 years ago, but very often I still struggle with accepting it. So I hope I can talk about it with you and that maybe we can exchange some information, that would be really nice
Re: Hi everyone
Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find it useful. Can I also compliment you on your English. I don't think anyone would have guessed without you saying you were from Belgium.

Hey! Welcome. I'm new too.
Re: Hi everyone
Hi Blocparty - welcome to the forum i hope its a really good resourse for you.
About dyspraxicia in adults its a same story hear - there is more help for school aged children with dyspraxicia as its often coupled with dyslexicia and there is much more awarenss and help for that but for adults support and knodladge is lacking but is slowly gaining.
Being in a smaller country is also part of the issue for you as there is less people and less organishions that deal with it where as in the UK yes there arnt many organishions but as its a bigger countery there will naturlie be more organishions.
With the FB group if it gains popularitie then meetups could be arranged and more of a organishion / network could be established so at least Belgum has somthing for the dyspraxic comunity.
Also I have to say that I have been to belgum a fue times and I think your country is grate

Re: Hi everyone
Thanks for the compliments on my English! I often watch BBC and read in English, so I guess that helps
And I'm a huge fan of a lot of British bands... I hope indeed that the facebook group will grow and that eventually we can meet up, will see...
