Welcome to the forum Freefall. How do you feel dyspraxia isolates you? Is it through making communication and socialising more problematic. Please share your experiences with the group.

Great to meet you

Yes I have found that it has kind of made feel isolated and I'd like thank whoever made this lovely forum for making this oppurtunity available.

it's just the fact ok here's an example i work shifts in an office of over 100 people anmd i can't remmeber names. some i can but most no. when i have to deliver a memo and even though they know about my dyspraxia i feel like an idiot when i have to ask the person their name even though i've been here for over a year

I wouldn't worry about it, J, as I'm sure many of us are the same, I know I am. There's no harm in jotting down names somewhere, so that you can refer to them if you're having to go to that department. I find with me it can take a good while for certain information to sink in so that it finally sticks, so you have you work on strategies that will help you. Last year when I went on certain tours and I could never remember most people's names. If I hear the name alone, rather than within a list of names which you generally get when meeting groups, then I might be able to associate that name with something about the person and I might have a chance to remember it. I must admit I don't find names terribly important. I don't know if this is due to my difficulties or whether that I just view that as a rather abstract form of identification. Hence the fact I often refer to people on the forum by single letters as so long as they can identify the individual concerned I find them no less useful than the full name.
