Hey there!
I need your help in manipulating the system when it comes to getting cheap rent and rent allowance please.
It gave the option on the housing list forms that if I am living in town to give the information but if I am living with my family to get a letter from my parents with proof of my address with them.
The housing council refused to put my name on the housing list due to the reason that I have no housing need because it says on the rules and regulations that I must be homeless and I am not considered homeless because I am currently living at home, even though I told them that I have to leave home because it is driving me crazy and I need to put my name on the housing list to get rent allowance but she turned me down and then asked me if I was ok and suggested that I live in a homeless hostel in town for a while and hand in proof of that address and then they will accept me. Well I felt like trashing the whole place and breaking their windows etc. How dare they!
My older sister is mentally unwell, my younger sister has depression, my Mother gets stressed alot.
I can't have my own privacy.
I can't have a healthy lifestyle or good mind living with my family.
I am treated like a teenager even though I am 24
I am seen as weak etc.
My family are invading my person life even though I don't want them to.
I share a room with my younger sister and am not allowed in the guest room.
I am not allowed to express my sexuality solo in my own room because I am sharing with my sister.
My younger sister and family question me when I am on the laptop about what I am doing, who I am talking to and why I am talking to them etc.
I want them to but out.
Once when I was 20 I told my mother that I was thinking of getting a bus to Bundoran alone and she said why not take your sister, why would you need to go alone?
If I said that I was getting a bus there, a family member or more would ask if they can come even though I want to go alone and they would ask me why I am going, who I am meeting, where I am going and what I will be doing etc.
I am sick and tired of this crap.
I want them all to feck off and I will tell them if I want to.
Why can't I have a life that is mine as well as one with them in it.....
:D

Re: My Rights as an adult
gee I can feel your stress. I reckon moving out is the best thing that you could do. Iv'e answered you on your other post about how to use the counscel route.
I have just remembered that a lot of my non dys friends save for a deposit, move in to a private flat and then put in a claim for housing benefit.Which can take a while for the counsel to process. So you would have to save enough to cover you for a few month's rent while your claim is being processed. Do you have any hobbies you could make use of to raise the deposit? Mabye sell photographs on a market stall or ebay or mabye sign up for some work as a tv extra, it pays well and all you have to do is stand in the right place.
All my female friends who I know who have dyspraxia are very pretty so mabye do some moddeling work. I am on the heavy side but I still found a lot of work in my twenties as a plus size model.
