Keeping worlds separate

Post by ry20 »

I have trouble integrating different areas of my live. For example telling my parents about my friends or telling my friends about my home live. I am wondering if other people with dyspraxia also experience this.

Hi Ry! I prefer to keep my worlds separate. Just because I like someone and am friends with them does not mean that my other friends/family will feel the same.

Me too. I'm a private person too and some people are just gossips plus I feel I have to justify myself which is not good and I don't like it

Yeah, having to justify yourself is so hard - I always feel I'm making excuses, and still feel guilty for not being 'good enough'.

Hi i know exactly what you mean i find it difficult to put the two worlds together there completely seperate and at times i struggle to understand how they cam link.

though i would say keeping somethings private is better.

I make no attempt to mix my worlds. I use one as a break from the other, and I enjoy the contrast between the separate areas of my life.

Thanks Gilly I forget that people are just as likely to admire me as I'm busy beating myself up because of my own inaccurate perceptions. It's a nasty vicious circle.
