Mirror writing

I overheard a conversation in school: one of our Learning Support Assistants was talking about a dyspraxic child and he said that one of the things that showed that he is dyspraxic is that he thinks about writing with his left hand, when he is right handed and that he can write in mirror. When I was a child (well, and sometmes I still do) I used to swap hands and wrote with my leaft hand (I'm predominantly righthanded, though there are things that I do with my left hand or with both equally) and I sometimes wrote in mirror just for the fun of it. Is this common among dyspraxics? is it a sign of dyspraxia? are there any other conditions (dyslexia? dyscalculia? I'm badly dyscalulic, though a friend says that I'm just afraid of numbers and maths, but I'm not dyslexic) that have this in common? woul be interesting to see how many of us can write with their non predominant hand or write in mirror.

I just found this forum as I was wondering if there was a connection between mirror writing and dyspraxia. My son is 7 and has difficulty handwriting, often mirroring letters. He is being assessed for dyspraxia (DCD). I have already read it is common for under 7 year olds especially left-handed children, so he may grow out of it.
I now expect I also have undiagnosed dyspraxia and while I am right-handed, and apart from being a slow writer, I don't remember having particular difficulties with handwriting. However I do remember mirror-writing for the fun of it. I once got caught in class and unfortunately my teacher was able to read it from the other side of the page as I was a heavy writer.

To me it sounds just as much potentially a Dyslexic thing. There is a crossover.
