Can haz noob

Post by spoon »

Hi, I'm Elis. Some of you might know me from dyspraxic teens or Matts hideout as I've been around for about 7 years! S
So..a little about me. I'm 21, a music graduate working as a teaching assistant/tutor and in the process of sorting stuff out for work as a music tutor. I've applied for a secondary music PGCE but am in two minds about it having acquired some new health problems + rediscovered my love of musicology.

I play in a band, compose and am a geek for gender studies, sexuality stuff, music, autism and do things with NUS liberation campaigns. Oh, and my bedroom may as well be a sensory room. I also have a 'rave toilet' which consists of flashing lights in a cupboard in the toilet...this provides much amusement at house parties. Oh, and I'm called spoon because when I joined these websites I had an obsession with spoons and planned how they would take over the world.

Diagnosis wise I have a half arsed attempt by university of a diagnosis of dyspraxia and irlen syndrome/visual dyslexia, some degree of depression/social anxiety/agoraphobia. I also suspect I have some degree of tourettes and asd. Am on a waiting list to see a neurologist about a load of random vertigo, fatigue and sensory issues that have worsened since commencing full time employment (January this year) and am currently off work as these are too bad for me to be anywhere near kids! Joy!

Hi Spoon,

Congrats on graduating to Dyspraxic Adults, as it were. Hope you can arrange some support for work. I'm currently speaking the diversity person at my work to get some assistance in my job. Keep us uptodate with how it goes.
