Adult Assessment in West Midlands

Post by louisa »

Hi Everone,
I hope that someone can help me.

Does anyone know where to get an adult dyspraxia and dyslexic assessment in the West Midlands? I would consider a private assessment consultation. Does anyone have any idea of costs?

It is so confusing to the lay person to know who it is best to be refered to for an accurate diagnosis, an Occupational Therapist, Neurologist or a Psycholgist. How can I find out if they have indepth knowledge of the two conditons.

It seems to be easier to get a diagnosis for children than for an adult.

Dear All
Just to let you all know I have managed to find the information I need from Mary Colley at the Dyslexia Foundation. She gave me a lot of information and advice which I am very grateful for and I would reccommend that anyone who needs help or advice to get in touch with the Dyspraxia Foundation. They do sterling work.

She is also sending me a list of the contact names of professionals who have experience in the diagnosis of Dyspraxia in the West Midlands area.

Good luck.

If it helps any I was originally diagnosed by a neurologist, but my second (adult) diagnosis was by an occupational therapist.
