Hi
Im 34 and was diagnosed 2 years ago properly, before that my gp told my mum i was a clumsey child and perhaps i should attend dance classes to help with my balance and coordination. ](*,)
Oh boy were they the hell years,i couldnt understand why i was so clumsey and was ridiculed about it all through my life. :*( verbally im ok at im fairly articulate apart from when im stressed or tired when i cant hold it together and turn into a gibbering wreak! as for tact i think i have got better over the years, but i sometimes slip up and offend people.
Ive just started martial arts and that is a challenge and a half,my instructor was really good when i explained my problem, i still cant watch him and copy a move straight away, lefts and rights a complete nightmare, it takes a lot of time and concentration from me.My mum really helped me as a child without knowing it by helping with my coordination and balance although she always nagged me about my handwriting.
I think being diagnosed earlier would have helped me,but ive lived with it for 32 years and got by im sure ill carry on doing things my way.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I hope that you find it helpful and can relate to the other members of the forum like I have. with other members experiences in life, I feel that there are many similarites.
Feel free to ask questions, however, strange you may feel they may be. The chances are some of us may have been there and experienced the same thing or be able to offer advice.

It sounds to me like you are trying really hard to combat your Dyspraxia, by doing tasks linked to balance and coordination, so well done and I hope you find the forum of use.

welcome to he forum. i am also articulate until i get stressed or tired then i come apart. a friend said a few months ago, before i was diagnosed or had even heard of dyspraxia, that for such an articulate man, i can realy mess my words up sometimes. at the time i felt upset and ashamed of myself but now i understand, why.
