I just thought I would ask if anyone here has experience of staffs uni. I am hoping to do Web Design there next year. The reason I ask is they seem to be incredibley Dyspraxia friendly. They have 400 people there with the condition or a related ASD.
I went to their open day, and had a chat with the Student Support person there- explaining I have severe dyspraxia and they will be able to support me in ways I didn't even think were possible!
e.g.:
- They will be able to provide me with a mentor (who I get to choose
- They said they would sort out a quiet room (I have ultra sensitive hearing!) for me and have really strict rules that music can not be heard outside rooms after 11pm and before 8am
- Laptop, Dictaphone, Extra time etc
- They have a key system that means I use 1 key to get into the accomadation, corridor and my room!
- Lots more....
I was amazed! Not only that, but the accomadation is on campus, plus a doctors and a mini police station!
I can't wait!
