Summer Holidays...

Post by Liz944 »

I know its a little early to be discussing this!!!! But I don't like the winter and the cold so thoughts have turned to arranging a summer holiday....

Anyone else thinking along the same lines.....

Where are you thinking of going to?

Well it probably wont get me out of the British weather, but Im going on my annual jaunt around Ireland. Going to see all my friends and family that are still in the homeland.

Cork, Wicklow, Glendalough, Trim, Dublin, Slane and up! May even take a nice break in the Dingle Peninsula.

Anyone else?

I've got a week in Cornwall booked for mid-September. I hate the heat, so going anywhere during the height of summer is out of the question for me! And as lovely as that will be, I'm slightly gutted that I'm going to be missing the hamster show in Cardiff which is on the same day that I'm going away!

Not wanting to be a spoilsport but though this was Dyspraxic Forum. But for the record I am planning on going for a week in Spain in September for my Birthday which is on 28th with my mum. If not Spain then South of France

I am not sure yet, might go for 4 days to the IoW or leave it until next year, and just get carpets for my flat this year. as last year was my cousins coming over from Australia, so everyone spent a bomb in going out most of the time, so I was constantly having to watch every penny I spent from May/June - December

but now starting to see the end of the black hole, and starting to think about spending money, and saving again.

By way of update for me, then I am considering the end of August to goto the isle of wight for better weather, as it usually starts really getting bad around my birthday, think it is something like 1 day whereby I didn't need a coat on, as it was so close in temp. (then the thunder and lightening)!!

and as there isn't any price difference between August and September with a coach trip. then there isn't any insentive to go in September, I was thinking with it being a summer holiday then they would up the price.

I'm off to Switzerland at the end of the month. I've always wanted to see The Alps. I'm staying at the foot of the Matterhorn and hope to get up the the viewing platforms.

I love Switzerland and have been several times. Which village/town are you staying in?

Going up the Jung Frau by train to the highest railway staion in Europe is to be recommended also. At the top there are various attractions including an ice palace which I would thoroughly recommend going to see :)

Zermatt. They have an ice palace too. Must be the thing in Switzerland.

I'm hoping to go rappelling down a gorge.

Truth be told; I'm looking forward to the THREE HOUR massage and pampering session that came with the package in the hotel spa.

Although I'm just looking forward to seeing real mountains and being amidst hat colossal geology.
