When you can't make breakfast without burning yourself.
I did this on Thursday, I made the tea and toast for my colleagues, then put my porridge and milk in the microwave in a bowl for exactly the length of time the instructions on the packet suggested.
2 1/2 minutes later, it was ready , I left it in a minute then went to take the bowl out using some paper towels, even through that I burned myself , I let go/threw the bowl instinctively, the bowl landed on the sink and the porridge landed on my hand.
Thankfully I was next to the sink when it happened so immediately stuck my hand underr cold running water, still hurt like hell though
I went to the hospital, had it dressed, so many dressings on my hand and arm that it looked about 3 times it;s usual size.
And after all that my work didn't even let me go home when I returned from hospital still in a lot of pain
I've taken the bandages off and my hand bears a strong resemblance to a map.
Think I'll be sticking to corn flakes and cereal bars from now on.

you know you're dyspraxic when
when you end up in A&E with a foot injury sustained while falling from...
a futon(gave the receptionist a laugh anyway. and the triage nurse, and the doctor and the person who did the xrays..)
when your cats are too afraid to be in the kitchen when you're cooking, but watch from a safe distance and then rush in to hoover up when you're done!
you can never quite remember whether christmas day is December 24th, 25th or 26th ..

.....When you get lost in uni, ending up in the wrong department, and then get confused as to why the room you're looking for isn't in there.....
Wouldnt have been so bad if it wasn't for the 200 kids following me.
(It was at work). I was supposed to (along with another person who didn't turn up), take all the kids from the coaches to a room in a nearby department. Felt very awkward when i had to ring to be rescued from somewhere else. Especially as i had to try and get them all back downstairs again since i'd taken them upstairs to a room that wasn't even there!

Re;
When you're worked in a place three years and STILL cannot recall a persons name when they say hello to you by name. Yet you know "the face" I cringe at this one cos it happens to me .....................

I tried explaining this phenomenon to someone the other day ( actually a class presentation) - I said:
"faulty pro-prior-receptive feedback..."
and they said:
"What??"
So I said:
Right, hold you arms out in front of you like zombies and close your eyes.
Now raise up your one arm.
Can you tell, without looking, which arm is higher?
They said :
YES!!
So I said:
THAT'S pro-prior-receptive feedback. It's the ability to know the position of your body in 3-dimensional space space, without looking at it. Someone with this problem might, for instance trip over a lot because - well how often do you need to look where your feet are when your walking to make sure you don't fall over them.
...and I do this too.
it's not caused me to go falling over yet, but I trip and stumble quite often and it's not like I'm walking over cracked paving stones.
This also goes for walking into things.
It is my considered opinion that door frames should be a statutory two inches wider.
Although I suspect this wouldn't solve the problem.
