Well. I used to really like redheads, (they weren't so many of them about!) but I think I've reverted to blondes now. I don't really mind about the colour, it's more the style that decides it for me! (I'm very weird with hair though, I've been known to be extremely upset when a friend/crush has drastically changed their hairstyle.)

I think we are missing 99% of traits here!! as it isn't just hair colour I go by, but usually prefere Brunettes. as all the other things to go with the person best suits me.

as they don't sit in the corner, but at the same time they aren't total life, and soul of the party!!

That's a bit harsh isn't it? We're not saying that hair color is the only thing that makes us decide on what kind of girl we like (at least I'm not), and I do agree that basing a decision on someone completely on their appearance is shallow - but I wasn't aware that is what we were doing. Personalities do actually matter more. :)

It was just meant as a bit of light-hearted fun. O:) I totally agree that hair colour doesn't matter that much, and personality is much more important.

Hair colour is hair colour, generally girls I have liked have all been brunette, but the girls I''ve ever been out with have all been blonde.

Don't pay any interest to hair colour, just like, who I like, but strange how things pan out isn't it?

it isnt the least bit harsh. that youd consider it at all let alone discuss it like we're all in primary school is derogatory. i assure you any self respecting girl would be offended. if you want to learn social skills relating to girls then learn that we do not like to be catagorised or prejudged in such a demeaning manor

i'm sorry, but i have to disagree, i'm not at all offended and i have plenty of self respect.

the guys have all said that it's just light-hearted fun and that they realise that personality is the most important factor so it sounds to me like we've got some decent lads on this forum because there are a lot of men out there who are only interested in appearence and pulling attractive girls.

i agree am not offened at all either

they way i see it is we all have a type or something we all generally go for for some its hair colour others it height, weight etc but at the end of the day it comes down to personality but you need physical attraction first. i have many male friends and i hear conversations like this an worse all the time. i know i have a fav hair colour on blokes this doesnt make me wrong its jus a personal opinion and we are all entilted to one of them. after all its jus a light hearted topic that am sure many of us have had before.

Shallow? Surely not! A persons deeply held beliefs can be found from the colour of their hair. Look, when you're a baby little hair particles develop in the brain and as you develop grow outwards from the head. The babies early thoughts shape these particles leading to hair growing in a particular pattern and colour. I have dark curly hair, because my genetics and early environment predisposed me to overly serious, but disorganising thinking. It's not unreasonable to work out most of my personality from a glance at my hair. Similarly it can be shown that any and all redheads are completely and irrevocably evil.

Anyone mistaking the above for a genuine opinion or anything approaching science needs to take some deep breaths and get themselves something to drink, aye ;)

No, I'm sorry, I don't agree. (And thank you for being generalising and saying none of us have any social skills. :)) At no point have any of us said "I won't date a girl that doesn't have X hair colour", or anything along those lines. I've had conversations like this with plenty of my female friends and none of them have said anything. What would be the difference between this thread and me going "I prefer girls with blue eyes" or "I prefer tall girls"? ... none. And I don't think it makes any of us evil for having a preference for physical attributes, when we've stated that (I think from the general comments from the boys in this thread) personality is the most important thing?
