Does anyone else go on other forums and if so what ones.

I go on casualty ones quite a lot and various actors sites.

Has anyone made any friends on other forums as well as this one and met up with them.

I made a frriend on a casualty one just over three years ago and we're meeting up on Saturday!!

Years ago - we're talking about 10 years ago I guess, I used to regularly go on a IRC chat room in the middle of the night to chat with a load of North Americans about the TV show Northern Exposure. In hindsight I must have been completely mad, although I'm still up in the middle of the night so some things don't change! ;)

Does anyone use 'Second Life' which has been getting loads of media coverage of late. It's a 3D walk around world for chatting and building your own house and unusual stuff like that. I've not used it myself but the idea sounds interesting.

I suspect there's a good few World of Warcrafters on here. Not a social forum as such, but an opportunity to get online with other gamers and kill bad beasties. Again not something I've tried myself but my former flatmate had racked up 15 days playing the game last time I asked - and I'm sure now it's much higher than that.

Nowadays by online socialising is limited to MSN although I do post to a few groups here and there as the mood takes me.

Viva la internet revolution!

Dan.

I have had access to the Internet for the past 11/12 years, and have made friends, but as far as we get is just swapping phone numbers, photo's, and such like, but never actually met any of them.

usually swap phone numbers etc. after a year or whenever I feel comfortable,

usually though I give my mobile number out, as it is a lot cheaper to get a sim card than to change landline phone numbers.

and if there is some other WoW'ers out there! then they can contact me on the Trollbane server, and character name Spohead! it was supposed to be just to chat to friends, but ended up being my main character!!

i use a couple of band forums that i've made quite a few friends on. i guess that when you like the same band/s then you're going to end up bumping into people at gigs even if you haven't intended to meet them.

and because i've been using these forums for a couple of years now i've met and befriended people from all over the place, so it has the added benefit of always having a place to stay wherever you go!

I dont go on other forums but I used to have my own chat room n I made loads of friends on that. Met over 20 people. Was fun while it lasted but a lot of effort to keep in touch with everyone!
I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never ever gonna keep me down :D

Hi,

I am learning to drive and i found an excellent forum and get lots of support and advice from other learner drivers.
There is also a driving instructor that uses the forum and he specialises in learners with difficulties such as dyspraxia. he gives lots of good advice.

I am TERRIBLE at maths, I got a U in my GCSE (unclassified). I wrote my name on the exam paper, opened it, could not make sense of it at all. Think i attempted a few questions but even they were probably wrong. whats the point of algebra? grrrrrr!

I managed a C in Maths. Somehow I struggled on at the top set in Maths but I was firmly at the bottom of the top set. In hindsight of lot of what was studied has had limited if any application in the real world. Perhaps if I'd ended up doing a numeric discipline things would have been different but that was never going to happen. Let me hand you over instead to those electronica-meisters Kraftwerk:

I'm the operator with my pocket calculator
I am adding and subtracting
I'm controlling and composing
I'm the operator with my pocket calculator

That's all you need.
