Hello!

Post by Martyn87 »

Hi there, I’m Martyn I’m 37 and was diagnosed with Dyspraxia at 5 or 6 it was only really explained to me as motor learning difficulties and that it takes a bit longer for me to get things compared to others.

For a while I suspected I had ADHD and not dyspraxia until I did a bit of research and realised that most people with Dyspraxia also have ADHD traits which is where I think I fall into.

Im unsure whether I should talk to my GP about my ADHD traits as I do struggle a bit with social anxiety but I’m also on here just to learn some tips and tricks on how to cope with day to day life.

Hi Martyn snd welcome

There is a good degree of overlap between Dyspraxia and ADHD and associated traits.

It's worth talking to your GP about your social anxiety as they may be able to offer some help. Similarly there are some online resources see https://www.dyspraxicadults.org.uk/foru ... php?t=7385

I find I'm often my own harshest critic an learning to reign that and be kinder to and more patient with myself has really helped, not that I don't have occasional lapses.
