Starting with smaller trips can help build your confidence. Choose places that are easy to get around and where you feel comfortable. Cities with good public transport are great if you don't drive.
Planning ahead can make things less stressful. Having a good itinerary helps, and using apps for maps and translation can be really useful.

Re: Solo Travel
Start with small trips to get used to it. People are usually helpful if you ask for it. You'll get more comfortable with time!
Re: Solo Travel
I love solo travel. I've travelled twice by myself to Florence, and to Madeira. Picking up bits of languages helps to get by. I do get lost a lot, so there was one day i walked 12 miles because I got lost, but i dont allow myself to get stressed out by it. You have to guage your own safety of course.
I think if you live near a big airport like manchester then a sunflower lanyard would be helpful. I get to the airport ridiculously early to navigate where im going. Being nervous means i get very snacky, so lots of nibbles otherwise you pay a fortune at the airport. Boiled sweets for sooking on the plane and to share with the person next to you. Download iplayer shows to your phone.
Vacuum bag for your clothes to put in suitcase so you have more room for nice things.
If you want to dip your toe in solo travel, start small, fly to ireland, then netherlands, then get further and further each time.
