I think I might have dyspraxia
Hi guys, I'm new here and I wanted to ask for advice about this, recently got diagnosed with adhd and waiting for my autism assessment to happen. most of my life I have always struggled with being clumsy, very bad handwriting, speech issues and I had a conversation with someone yesterday just talking about life and then talking about my issues with working and how I can't keep a job, when I get overwhelmed/stressed which is very easy for that to happen I become clumsy, In my last job in June 2024 I was new and I lasted 6 days because it was too much even though its the lowest hours your can do per day I accidentally knocked a table over while I was hoovering and stuff like that happens all the time, I also get extremely fatigued easliy and required alot more energy to stay focused. I used to roll/twist my ankle alot when I was Younger, it doesn't happen often now but still does once in a while , I also have difficulty with some gym exercises since I workout when Im able to but cannot run on a treadmill since I'm constantly worried I'm not centred/going to trip over this just a short list of things I struggle with, it's nothing too too severe but definitely enough to impact my day to day life. I don't know if anyone in my family has it since I don't have a relationship with them anymore but disabilities does run in the family and my uncle who passed away years ago when I was very young had cerebral palsy, any advice? Should I speak to my gp about it?

Hi Xoxoluke
Welcome to the Forum.
With your ADHD and suspected Autism, and from what you've written, it's very possible you have dyspraxia. By all means ask your GP. Regrettably provision of support for dyspraxia is patchy at best and they might not have (m)any options open to get you assessed.
Dyspraxia' ADHD and Autism can all cause a fair degree of associated anxiety. Whilst you might not necessarily fit criteria for an anxiety disorder learning some strategies to help you combat panic is really worthwhile.

Hey Xoxoluke, welcome! Your symptoms of clumsiness and difficulty focusing combined with easy overwhelm point heavily toward dyspraxia. You should schedule a talk with your family doctor about this condition even if you don't have access to enough support. They can show you useful methods to handle your situation which provides important insights. Having these thoughts shows you want to understand yourself better which is good. Never stop trying because finding your own solution takes time and effort.
