IM AT ABERDEEN!!!! The support department is fairly good- always helpful and its easy to get hold of a disability adviser if you need to disscuss anything. You should be contacted by one via letter/ email if you accept a place, and theyll go through your needs such as extra time etc. You can meet up with them too! Aberdeen is a nice place- its a small city with around 200,000 ppl. Its big enough to have all your shops, pubs, clubs etc, but without the intimidation of a massive sprawling metroplois like Glasgow or London. Theres lots to do- it has three cinemas, loads of shops and shopping centres (mainly in the centre of town), an ice rink (bit random lol), a beach etc, with a good student culture and nightlife. The music scene is however a bit crap i would say. Id recommend that you visit anywhere that your planning on studying before choosing- dont take other ppls words for it! Abdn should have open days soon- i think theres some in March, check out the website at abdn.ac.uk

I will 2nd that carrie, but did do 4 days around nessie once, me, my brother, my mother, my father, and my aunt taking up 3/4's of the backseat, as me, and my brother were only kids at the time, so we needed less space!
so me, and my brother were always happy to get out of the car whenever we could! which my father didn't like stoppng, so we ended up really stiff!

I went to aberdeen too, and the support department is def good. The citys v likable in many way too, but it is the most expensive place to live in scotland for students, and the halls of residence are in horrifically poor condition. What courses are you applying to do? I did english lit and def dont recomennd the department, but I also took sociololgy courses and there department was very likable. the opinions Iv got from friends here is pyschology dept ok, economics good, law poor, sciences good, geography ok, languages good and education v poor, but fuzz is right, you really need to visit to decide and have a look at the individual courses to see if you like them. The good thing about aberdeen uni is that although you aplly to a course you get accepted to a department, so you can switch around classes and courses really easily if you change your mind.
Personally, i found the uni halls ok- i stayed in the nicer part of Hillhead though- if you can afford it, stay in North Court or South House; theyr quite nice, or if your really loaded, Crombie, which is much closer to campus (roll out of bed closer). The rooms are much bigger in Crombie too, but for a price- about a hundred quid a week (catered). To be honest, i think that halls are the same everywhere- cheerfull but not luxiourious! Yeah, ill second what Robyn said about the departments- aberdeen is unbelieveabley flexible- im half way through third year and can STILL change my degree without having to repeat anything, though ill have to stay put when next term begins!
Anyway thats me flown the Aberdonian flag!
PS- Stirling is a REALLY nice place too- very picturesque and historical! It also has some great shopping centres. However, from what iv heard the campus (anbd halls) are pretty secluded and far out from the town centre, but on the plus side, it has a lake! Dundee has a very good union and hospital, so if your planning on doing lots of drinking/ socialising/ bone breaking then its the place for you, lol! Personally im not a fan of Dundee though- for me, the city has very little character, and stuff like the cinema is s out on an industrial estate. Thats just my opinion though!
PS- no offense to any Dundonians (i dont think there are any on the board?)

Well if u do chose Wolverhampton uni, and u need any local advice, here I am!
I cant comment on the quality of the uni itself, even tho it has a pretty good reputation round here, but I'm local and I only live literally doen the road from one of their campuses. So if u come round by me, u have a tour guide!

I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never ever gonna keep me down

Well let me know what happens! I used to hang out in Wolverhampton quite a lot, so whilst I still aint great at giving directions round Wolverhampton itself, I can recommend pubs n stuff there and in the local area....especially if u end up on the Dudley campus, Dudley I CAN do (but only cause I've lived here all my life
)
Oooh I must be getting old cause I have only just remembered, I actually used to go to a lot of Wolves Uni nights out, cause my then boyfriend went there so I'd get signed into loads of cool places, hmmm, I only just remembered that
