Pedometer watch
Well that was a ******* waste of £11. Just got a pedometer watch from Amazon and tried it out by walking up and down the kitchen and hallway . Half the time or more it doesn't record any steps. I thought it might be due to arm movement but that makes no difference. It's ******* pointless if it won't count all my steps.
Checked instructions. Under 'margin of error' it says "When you are walking /running, the hands should swing in the same frequency as the feet, otherwise the accuracy of the steps recorded will not be correct."
Like how am I ******* supposed to be able to ensure that?

Re: Pedometer watch
I tried attaching it to my trousers and also putting it in my pocket as some have suggested. It was still off and on in counting steps. As for sending it back- too difficult for me to do.

Re: Pedometer watch
The Amazon reviews were all exemplary. Got it to work a bit better but you have to have your arms positioned just right. Get it even slightly wrong and nothing gets recorded. I would think you have to add 5-10% to the step score.Tom fod wrote:This demonstrates importance of research //reading reviews before committing to expenditure.
Re: Pedometer watch
Is it a popular or well known brand? I always thought pedometers were attached to a belt and 'rode' on the hip. Can you calibrate it?
Part of me is curious about how many steps I do and part of me is so what.

You can adjust for height, weight and step distance .Tom fod wrote:Is it a popular or well known brand? I always thought pedometers were attached to a belt and 'rode' on the hip. Can you calibrate it?

I was thinking more along lines of could you adjust sensitivity of how it measures movement.

Re: Pedometer watch
It allows for low, medium and high sensitivity.
Re: Pedometer watch
I wd feel dubious about any device that was meant to measure steps taken guaged/reliant upon swinging your arms in time to your walking or running

Re: Pedometer watch
Using the phone will be the best way. As it's in your pocket, so there no chance of the steps increasing due to any arms swinging. You can also measure your heart rate, add what you've eaten that day for the calorie intake, how many healthy steps you've done.
