Have to admit, there's no well done on my part here O:) this one made first contact, which is a bonus, as normally I'm made to feel that I don't exist by these sites.

It's nice to be contacted by someone else for once :)

well it seems to be progressing well, and i now have her number (she offered hers :D ) and we chat using a phone app (whatsapp) so you never know what might happen.
she contacted you first? wow, that is a rare but nice thing :D i ended up getting a really good friend out of that happening once.

update!

she is isn't ready for dating yet as she went through a bad break up last year, but she still wants to meet me and has invited me to see a movie together sometime in the future as she enjoys talking to me and we like the same kind of movies. she has said she doesnt like me in that way, just that she isnt ready for dating, so you never know i guess. we are still talking all the time as well :) what an interesting and slightly confusing situation.

Yup... Confusing alright but at least you seem to have a friend :)

Mine seems to be going quite nicely too, I don't want to get ahead of myself though. One step at a time.

Yay!

I have similar news, we've agreed to meet each other as well. Haven't set an event or date yet though.

Tough call :(

---

We've been chatting on whatsapp for a few weeks now and have set a date to meet for the first time this coming week.

My first actual 'date' in a very very long time.

well done, my thing is over. she just confirmed she isn't looking, interested and cant see it developing anywhere beyond friendship so im back to square one it seems :( seems to happen to me a lot, misreading people and their feelings and liking the wrong ladies. not sure where to turn to next.

I have a tendancy for developing crushes on ladies who are utterly unobtainable for me.

Hmm.

Well I didn't expect this.

We had our date, which was pleasant enough but I simply didn't feel any 'chemistry' between us. And there was a few too many awkward silences. Ultimately I didn't feel attracted to her and I sensed that she probably felt the same.

But we're still communicating, and she came out and asked me "are you interested in me?"

There's no honourable way to avoid that question, so I elected on honesty. I told her that's she's very nice but that I didn't feel any attraction.

Well, it turns out that she does feel attraction (or so she says), I didn't feel or sense any.

I feel kind of flat, I didn't expect to be the one making a rejection. I do hope I was as tactful as possible.

But as much as I desire to be in a relationship, I am not desperate to be at any cost. There's little point in being a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship. I want to be in love and not simply be with someone out of mutual loneliness.

Back to the pond.

well done for trying and being honest with her, that honestly hasn't happened to me usually the other way round. and yeah it is best to wait for the right person than just any opportunity, though it doesnt help with the lonely periods and the fact some of us have ben waiting seemingly forever for that special person.
